Ms. Walker’s practice includes all areas of family law including divorce, custody, adoptions and legitimation. Ms. Walker will work to assist her client in contested as well as uncontested matters. The surprise for many clients is that many issues can be resolved simply by consent and/ or settlement agreements in family law issues. Issues of divorce, custody, visitation and legitimation are often resolved between the parties.
Ms. Walker has proven effective in settling matters prior to engaging in extensive litigation by assisting clients with tools to speak with the opposing party or allowing the opposing party to have personal contact with her to reach a satisfactory and cost efficient resolution. However, if the parties are not able to reach a resolution, Ms. Walker will pursue family law cases with efficiency and attention to the details of each issue.
Ms. Walker firmly believes that focus on the issues will result in a stronger case and a more satisfactory outcome for the parties. Often the most difficult aspect of the family law case is all of the passion and pain associated with the challenging issues. Ms. Walker firmly believes that it is counsel’s job to acknowledge the pain, but to guide the client into the best strategy and preparation to bring the claim to a favorable outcome.
